Full Size Van

Those who need more room, towing capacity as well as wheelchair accessibility may opt for a full size van and conversion for wheelchair access. We also provide quality vans and conversions to comply with D409 standards for group homes, nursing homes, and paratransit applications.

The full size van has set the standard in wheelchair access for decades. The versatility of the ‘big van’ allows for many different configurations for wheelchair access. Some of the vehicle options available include the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter and the Dodge Promaster.  These “big vans” can be configured by the factory with several different roof heights and body lengths. This allows seating for multiple wheelchairs and passengers. Whether the van is for private use or paratransit applications there are many floor plans to suit every need.

We are proud to offer the AMF Bruns “Smartfloor” and the Abilitrax system for installation in the vans listed above.  Please call for information on these safe and flexible seating and wheelchair tie-down flooring systems.

In some applications, you may not require an extra tall or very long vehicle, simply installing a wheelchair lift in either the side or rear door will be sufficient (depending on headroom required).

Features of the full size van conversion include:

  • Extra space for wheelchair access, passengers and luggage
  • Large towing capacity
  • OPTIONAL factory tall roof and tall door for head clearance
  • Many wheelchair lift choices which can be installed in rear or side doors. Please see our lifting devices section for more information.
  • Remote access including powered doors

The available options for creating access to a full size van are almost endless. We encourage you to contact us while considering the purchase or modification to a full size van. Of course wheelchair height, length and width play a large part in deciding which option is best for you.

Conversions and installations can be performed on the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter and the Dodge Promaster.

Happy Customers

I could not have been happier with the Roll-A-Ramp company in S.D. as well as Courtland Mobility in Burlington and how they worked seemlessly together to make a Christmas miracle come true for getting my mother-in-law (in a wheelchair) to our family’s dinner at our home. I am disappointed in myself for not posting something sooner, but I couldn’t forget again. Especially since I am contacting them again to purchase another one. Great people, excellent service and compassion from everyone. Oh, yes. The product! The ramp is excellent! Lightweight and VERY firm. Ours is 12’ long and sturdy when unrolled and laying flat. I highly recommend both companies and products!!

Thank you Tom for being so friendly and considerate when you converted the van for my Grandmother. You met us on our schedule and made sure things were right. It really helps the customer and I always appreciated that.”

With kind regards, Martha Bryans
